The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 6.0分。大型禁摩宣传片——其实还是公路片内核。韩寒过分了啊，把人家兄妹俩都写死了...
韩寒这么多年来，一点长进都没有。而当初吃他那一套的小孩已经长大了，韩寒还是没有任何长进。
《1988》是我读的第一部韩寒小说，或许也是最好的一部。按水平来说，《后会无期》和《乘风破浪》约等于《他的国》，之后《飞驰人生》约等于《光荣日》，《四海》约等于《一座城池》，再这样下去，《三重门》不远了。
本来是个小情绪、小清洗电影，必须有人死？必须玩忧伤？必须丧？
喜欢刘浩存的笑
人有悲欢，车有离合，枕边一闪而过的《麦琪的礼物》才是最大的麦格芬，没大家说得那么烂。
其实也没那么差，但是想了想真觉得看这种电影真的好浪费时间。各类元素一锅乱炖，灵感段子肆意拼贴，悲欢离合潦草至极。情节驱赶着人物，而不是人物塑就了这个故事，于是刘昊然饰演的男主无论承载了创作者多少岁月慨叹与成长回望，都无法给人留下任何深刻印象。也许观众只能在些许有趣的台词里找共鸣了吧。

小镇青年的乐与愁。整体结构和雄狮少年如出一辙。韩寒的电影和他的小说一样，都是由无数段子组成的。所以，本片可以说是春节档最好的喜剧片，仅靠前半部的笑点就秒杀《杀手》。
在一片支离破碎中，有一些奇怪的特质与能量在某种超现实的语境中被引爆，整体绝非一无是处
韩寒的电影世界里，一直有着父子情，一直有着同好兄弟情，但不知怎么回事，这部作品的重心居然放在了小镇青年的爱情上面。讲着两个年轻人怀揣理想，来到大城市却找不到目标，当好不容易找到了点慰藉，又纷纷被生活教训了一顿。这故事处处都带着伤痛文学的感觉，想当年文风潇洒的韩寒，竟也写出这种郭敬明爱写的东西，是我始料未及的。韩寒笔下那个爱耍小聪明，厌烦于俗世的男主角在这部电影的一半就被大海吞没了，剩下的就是一个普通陌生敏感的郭敬明了。整体的节奏把握也有问题，小镇生活写了大半，城市部分写的很少，更像后面加上去的部分。强烈的割裂感让这部电影比起之前都要差。。。 20220529
显而易见能看的出韩导的努力，显而易见努力想营造好一个小布尔乔亚式的悲情青春故事，沈腾、尹正的戏份让这个悲情主线有点儿分叉，黄晓明的段子叉的不伦不类，明明相爱非要倔强的独立打拼，非要最后来个静悄悄的琼瑶式车祸，叉的毫无悬念，叉的寡淡无味，可惜了，个人感觉整体不如前几部。
大年初一看了个悲剧、不过悲剧才有韩寒的风格，前面节奏不错，后期有点商业、、整体还行吧
比起之前韩寒的电影太没有普世性了，这样剧中年轻人有多少，这可能是写给自己看的电影吧，确实能理解作者想表达的孤独感，独立前行，剧情就很苍白仓促，看完只记住下搞笑的尹正了，带青春疼痛文学那味了
但是就是好！

十分韩寒，看在工整的份上80分有了 麦琪的礼物这条线隐藏的有点明显 人物动机与设定虽然毫无逻辑，但却十分新概念
前边小笑点太密集了，没有成功给电影打下一个基调，导致风格上都没有建立起来。剧情狗血到不行，没有意义的死亡。
不会拍电影可以不拍，嘴上说的是文艺，心里想的都是钱啊，又浪费生命中的2小时
