The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 就是个西部片小品吧，真正精彩的就不到十分钟，结尾处理的挺好的，有一种不可饶恕的结尾既视感。不过整体来看还是有点平淡了，还好只有九十分钟。
从头能预料到尾的简单剧情，没有复杂的情绪，没有错综的人物关系，唯一值得一提的是老亨的演技真不错

编剧很取巧，运用了比利小子英雄迟暮解甲归田谢幕之战这样的噱头看点，摄影技巧说得过去，前半段剧情进展过于缓慢，不过胜在结尾高潮部分枪战写实精彩
就是杰森斯坦森电影常用的隐退大佬扮猪吃老虎的庸俗套路嘛，搞个小孩子挑逗观众情绪，结局大反转，这些手法都玩烂了，换张皮分就能高那么多。看斯坦森打架不比看这糟老头打手枪强？
难得现在还能看到一部如此舒缓古典的西部片。虽然剧情和场景都简单了些，和《新豪勇七蛟龙》这样的当代西部动作大片相去甚远，但骨子里的悲怆气息与东木老爷子的《不可饶恕》如出一辙
沾了比利小子的传奇光芒，但影片的观赏性并不强，尚且不如《大地惊雷》

美国平民的持枪习惯是有历史依据的，电影不太行。
久违的西部电影的味道。没什么比一个把汗水留在地里的干瘪老农更让人觉得窝囊，尤其他还眇着一只眼。但是在西部，每个老男人的过去都可能是传奇。美国电影喜欢拍这种惹不起的主题，源自他开拓时代的尚武延续。
全片简洁不拖沓，最后的枪战有种回到老西部片的感觉。不过西部片真的没落了，也只能挖些老素材拍了。
