The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 苍天明眸有时过于灼热
对于成千上万个Fern来说, 生活是一种选择, 或许现实没有给他们选择的余地, 但他们却永远葆有去选择的勇气。
“寄蜉蝣于天地，渺沧海之一粟。哀吾生之须臾，羡长江之无穷。挟飞仙以遨游，抱明月而长终。知不可乎骤得，托遗响于悲风。”
他们是一直在路上的，在这一路上，身边的挚友逐渐去世、离开定居，最后慢慢只剩下一人，带着回忆与孤独。
孤寡老人探索生命归宿的公路之旅。比较平静的一部戏，讲述了人到晚年的女主，却失去家和伴侣，被迫以车为家独自流浪。感觉和香港的《浊水漂流》有些异曲同工之妙，同样是边缘阶层的“游牧族”，在无依无靠中熬着人生最后的时光，背负生存的尊严，思考着生命的归宿到底何去何从。
看到75岁的Swanki描绘她在路上所见的美景，说哪怕在此时死去也不枉此生的时候，眼泪顺着脸颊滑下来了。跟随Fern游荡美国西部的两个小时有好多这样让人感慨的时刻，在影片结束她重回Empire旧居时，我想到开头那个在亚马逊打工的女生的纹身，“家是一个单词，还是你永远放在心里的东西？”
心无所属，永远是一个人的旅程。这一生，我们离别又遇见，在路上，却充满希望～
配乐毁了Frances McDormand的表演，空镜很像国家地理，这部片子真的走入那些游牧者的心了吗？
