The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 中规中矩传记片，半天除了开放式站位还有啥？
中规中矩的好莱坞电影。真实人物做背书，看起来品相倒也没那么差，感觉奥斯卡真是一年不如一年，矫枉过正的政治正确，毫无新意毫无进步的电影题材，世界在收紧，自由的国度里电影也在收紧，新十年的好莱坞早早的就已疲态尽现
因为从父亲的角度去展开叙述，所以父权确实占篇幅，电影的主题名字也是父亲嘛，所以可以理解为冠军的父亲也不失偏差，与儿女的矛盾，与商业的矛盾，与人种的矛盾，父亲面临的更生动，电影也展现得很全面，是一部中规中矩的片子了。
中规中矩。动作摄影很美。往上抛起网球的专场,是又一次的太空漫游。个人的太空漫游。国王理查德家族的太空漫游。
美国版的《摔跤吧，爸爸！》，但无论是哪方面或都远远不及。
被“好人”理查德耍成猴了
本片的体育部分和剧情是结合而非分离的
人物设置非常吸引人的体育传记片。典型的好莱坞经典剧作套路，人物一开始就带戏出场。且理查德这个角色的权威和尊严让人畏惧三分，人物鲜活而让人感觉到有真切的压力。will smith的表演也为这个剧本增色不少。人物设置依然是类似于《当幸福来敲门》的底层黑人励志翻盘，而故事结构则类似于《点球成金》，最后没有成功，而是以抑代扬，展现人物的魅力多于人物的胜利，也许是好莱坞体育传记片的新趋势。
