The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 原以为结局会是假戏真做，我草率了。在印度这样有宗教束缚的国家，同性的环境会更加苛刻。
最后希望世界越来越好，中国也一样，不要再有这么多偏见和戾气，爱本身就没有错，love is love
毕竟一方水土一方人，的确是我所理解的潮汕味，本土演员脸上的木讷，小院里的烟火，不嫌俗。但是挺不爽的就是对父权观念的妥协（不是主人公的妥协，而是导演自身还没完全脱离）。况且，文化差异的巨大空间并没有拉开，外来媳妇本地郎的故事缺了灵魂。
反观禁言，印度在讲述这些故事又怎么不是一种好事呢😄
妈妈的角色从头到尾都非常真实自然。影片有很多有趣的梗（撞车后吵架发现对方是老乡，于是和解）和巧妙的处理（儿子情感受挫后发型变化展示人物内心的大波动），感觉导演很善于捕捉生活的细节。

电影感不强，但胜在真诚。
男主打电话告诉女主他对家人讲出来了的那块，实在太好哭了呜呜呜
之前对潮汕的印象只有潮汕牛肉丸/奶奶好好玩儿/真的是纯方言，普通话对白都没有二十句，完全听不懂，全靠看字幕
最後還是傳統的互相和解大團圓結局
但另一方面而言，其实拍出来至少代表了一种关注。
想想其实孩子能在这样的彩虹家庭长大多幸福啊 虽然“Sumi和Shardul们”还不能说服大家他们就“和其他人一样正常” 但这个结局是印度电影人当下能拍出的最好的结局了 没关系 step by step, love always wins
导演还没准备好讨论这个议题，最终变成长辈自我心理建设，母亲松口了，这才去挽回感情，女方成为长辈放下面子的工具，男方从始至终也没努力改变，然而最后感情还救回来了……把地方特色融入得很不错，还有着点真诚，这就好过大部分国产电影了
看到惺惺相惜和最后的印度同志大游行…有一些破防了😢
印度可以拍出来，什么时候中国也能不避讳就好了。
