The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 夏目好几天没看到猫咪老师因为担心才出来找它，看到洞里的美景想到的是和猫咪老师一起看，喜欢是记挂着你想和你分享我觉得美好的一切。猫咪老师看到有妖怪欺负夏目就把它吃了，事后还傲娇不承认。明明可以提前唤醒岩铁拿到自己喜欢的酒，但因为猜到了唤石的身份，知道夏目的意图，明明提前到了却装作睡觉错过了。三筱为了起昔日与另一池塘之主的约定惺惺相惜这份友情也很美好！人形好好看，好期待猫咪老师化形（以男性的状态）无论是三筱与笹目还是田沼与夏目都是很好的朋友，我太爱这系列了。
甚至有点意犹未尽的感觉 希望温暖可以延续很久。
从神灵与妖怪的世界获取遗憾与怅惘，于现实慰籍观者之满足。
啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊太可爱了三三老师！！！！！夏目我爱你！！！！！
惯性给的五星，这次其实没有之前那么深的感动。还是期待接下来的新篇。
渐行渐远的友谊，第二个故事好伤感。第一个故事有点太刻意去卖日系温暖了，我这个年龄已经看不太进去了。
夏目和猫咪老师越来越有爱了qwq也变得可以保护其它人了，越看越爱，我永远爱这个男人。
一个好剧本让徐峥不再演颓废中年，倪虹洁不再演妈，宁理不再演杀手，一群老戏骨轻松愉悦的氛围下拍了一个好电影
后面那篇故事也太有意思了，以前怎么没发现三筱这么霸总
3.5其实这两集倒没有多么令人惊叹，诡异的访客剧情和立意还有点意思，石起一般。咱之所以微笑着看完，那是因为对夏目不变的爱，期待主线剧情的第七季早日到来。
猫咪老师说热闹≠充实；夏目说我们悄悄从那条地道回去吧，那里很漂亮，老师你也一定会喜欢的。三篠人形和妖形也差太多了吧。挺高大好看的。😘😘
两个短篇。票价比一般的电影便宜500yen。其实电视版动画一直没追完。不过但凡有剧场版都会去看一眼。今天才发现原来野蛾学長声音那么性感的。比较喜欢后面那一篇。
日本人真会小题大做、故弄玄虚，少看日式翻译
虽然长度不及电影版，剧情还是不减当年，温柔依旧！此生无悔入夏目！！！
第二个超乎预期了，其实田沼一直都很孤单，和夏目是因为看得见妖怪才认识的，夏目眼里能看到的东西只有一小部分是他能看到的。所以他和笹目产生了共情。但夏目其实和三筱一样，其实很珍惜亲友。好无奈啊，三筱也想不到自己可以维持力量到现在，而一开始宛如双子的亲友却不能，这也是很孤单的啊！至于名取真的就是刷脸的
怎么会有动画能十三年来始终如一的这么好看呢？平淡里的环环相扣，从来没有因为时间的流逝而有任何一个角色掉队。看到田沼的故事又想起了每次进入缓慢流动的乡间生活之中，幸福平和的心情。夏目，一生的心灵归宿！
热闹的地方可能更空虚吧。就像早些年的我，孤单了就去街上，看人来人往。后来发现那样只会更孤独。
好久没看夏目了。不过石起那小小的身体说出“大人一定是看到了我这渺小身体中的某种潜质和力量才会信任我并赋予我重任”的时候，泪目了。这应该就是“个性积极”的人会想到的吧！友人帐真的是会让我这个情感大老粗觉察和发现很多人类（和妖怪）温柔而细腻的心思。
不知道看什么的时候看一集夏目总不会失望，而获得治愈。两集剧拼在一起的“电影”，第一个故事关于期待，第二个故事关于被朋友落下的心情。热闹并不代表充实。
自从之前出了不可结缘，我看什么都是不可结缘，看什么剧情都想哭。QwQ
