The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 亂，沒有吸引人看下去的慾望。除了Kidman外沒什麼亮點
几个主演的演技很棒。其实可以拍的更好的，节奏太乱了。
原来是索金的剧本，怪不得这么多台词，但是这次真的很无聊
虽然我也只在television history课看过几集I Love Lucy，但是巴登和Desi Arnaz真的完全不像，反而看之前无法想象的Nicole Kidman在化妆加持下还有点Lucille的影子（声音模仿也有努力）这部和同为传记片的乔布斯模式比较相似，截取短短几天时间辅以大量闪回，不过闪回处理得不好（不如不闪）结尾给了个分量很足的Oscar moment

妮可女主提名还是很有说服力的，其他的提名没啥很强的说服力，只能说看着还行不够亮眼。。。剧本嘛还行吧
相由心生。四十岁以前的相貌是父母给的，四十岁以后的相貌是自己修的。这一点在同期出道的妮可•基德曼和娜奥米•沃茨脸上看的清清楚楚。
孤独、恐慌、聪明、冷静、勇敢，电影有种精简的科技感，挺讲究画面的干净，女主挺强，片子挺没意思的。记得有句我被袭击，结果👮不去审判袭击者反而审判我，啊，原来你们也是那样，普通人一旦有什么意外发生好像所有人都要开始对被害者无死角挑刺，加害者的信息却是寥寥，各种打码隐藏信息无死角保护好，无数人为它寻找借口，各种狡辩。法律尊重他人权可以，可是为什么与此同时各方要往死里攻击受害者呢，不完美的受害者就应该被攻击一次又一次吗，难道全世界就是个大型狗镇吗，人人都有审判制裁的权利。受到伤害后的附加伤害让许多受害者不能说、不敢说，让犯罪分子逍遥法外，从而也带来更多的受害者。
2.5 这电影就是在各位演职人员的能力范围内做出的行活儿吧！好莱坞的那些破事早被拍来拍去拍烂了，不难看但也没什么新意.
广告大片的气质，疫情+人工智能，索德伯格真会玩儿！
紧随时代潮流的索德伯格，给多少钱办事也不糊弄，低成本照样高效产出，常规类型化框架内依然可以凭借反套路剧情，晃动的手持镜头制造紧张感和窒息感。不到90分钟的体量，一些角色的置入是多余的，最后反杀虽然爽快，也难免摆脱不了降智的设定。

妮可基德曼太美了~~~果然，男人靠不住，唉
这次的剧本有点离谱了，完全看不清索金的侧重点是什么，在最后的高潮戏中，究竟是身份问题还是婚姻问题占据主导，索金显然困于电车问题而导致两者皆抓。并且，电影虽然以一周工作时间展开，但是它顾及的方方面面太多太多，不加解释的插叙与时间线的断裂，老人们坐在那里侃侃而谈的预告转场也是毫无必要。
Aaron Sorkin別再自編自導了吧，這應該是看過他最弱的一次...多麼希望有一天能再跟芬奇合作。Nicole Kidman提女主可接受。
6.5 一个女人的追求和辛酸。故事了无新意。但演员都很出彩。妮可基德曼真是一个厉害的演员，能让观众共情。
大概是所有讲智能科技电影中最正面（也是疫情所迫？）的一部，都可以当广告来卖了。
这种标准冲奥传记片，还是关于好莱坞自己之前那些破事的，我真的看腻了，索金现在是不是越来越执着于奥斯卡了，连着来导演，剧本打磨都没有以前好了，机关枪台词加几个倒叙，也不新鲜了啊。妮可表演不喜欢，但还是看出来不错，巴登和西蒙斯这奥提真就没啥必要了
轻盈地游走于现实和影像，于是我们终于有了一部关于当下的合格类型片。
