The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 在恐怖片弱势的今天，有部非心理幻觉、分裂臆想、精神错乱、温情内核的真鬼片，还是能坐下一看，虽然中段时间碎片些许凌乱，但如不求甚解，懂个七八分也就可以了。
怎么做到一惊一乍故弄玄虚的同时还特别无聊的，简直有辱韩国恐怖片的门楣。
取景和氛围还过得去，但技法不行。一上来就煞有介事地赋予主角某种使命感和异禀，但却没有足够的铺垫去解释动机，也没有对“驱魔”的能力进行深挖。开头就抛出几个名词解释，还要用字幕的方式讲解，生怕观众不知道影片想讲什么，然而导演确实自己都没有捋清逻辑，还指望观众去自行拼凑，试图在时空结构上做文章，但情节和线索的铺排杂乱无序。大部分时间只是几个角色在废楼里不断被“鬼打墙”，重复着“遇鬼-追杀-逃命”的戏码，剧情的推进却迟迟不见眉目。角色（无论是人或鬼）的行事逻辑也让人摸不着头脑。
一如既往吵闹的无厘头黑帮片，当成综艺看也行
前戏（包括前情提要）太长，而主线核心重点也在整部电影中飘忽不定，反而最后的游轮大决战羸弱且无聊。
明知这是一场意外，明知咫尺远近也无法靠近，依然愿意为你而来。
我好久没看过这么差的港片了…这种卡司，这种故事，是认真的吗？好多情节和走向根本都没交代清楚啊，好差劲哦…
故事比较老套，但正能量的主题还是挺振奋人心的。众多老戏骨的技艺也为影片加分不少。
如果电影同样有警醒世人的作用，那便是，不要随便以身试验闯凶宅。
故事还挺好的，演员表演也到位，就是剪辑有点问题。有些人物动机和决定还是存疑
剧情弱，推理弱，法庭弱，内地配音弱，可惜一帮老戏骨。多加一星给智叔。还是去看智叔和方中信的《律政强人》。

鲍起静那场奶孙戏，我很感动。智叔和曾老师船上的戏，也是超级赞。曾老师一开始奸，后面以利益为导向的转变，我觉得很有表演层次。年轻一辈是有很多不足，剧情上的转折也确实过于简化处理，但我还是很喜欢这部电影，拍得很实在。
请不要再继续消耗香港这群老戏骨的精力了。谢谢。
今次这部完结篇怎么说呢？说起来要写影评的话也真是没什么好说的，就是那种看完之后没有有感而发的感觉，没什么特别的感触要说的话……而且这部完结篇我给的分很低
移植在《大逃脱》之类的真人秀节目中的话水平还算惊艳，但作为电影就差强人意了
可以说21年最好看的恐怖片之一了。。。确实有点吓人，但又有烧脑的要素，推荐~
剧情很糟糕，纯粹的吓人电影，几种元素拼凑一下。
谁能想到这玩意还拍到了第三部 不过笑点和恶趣味还真是 不管过了多少年 都能心领神会到 啊 果然是鼹鼠之歌啊
