The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 反向驱神很有创意。恶魔在人间也做了很好的解释。一开始驱魔时候那个站在门口的构图，一看就是致敬老版驱魔人的。
就，普普通通恐怖片，有几个突然出现的镜头符合我的口味
“上帝掌管天国，恶魔控制人间。”
开头氛围渲染的还不错，但是到后面驱魔片直接变成了丧尸片，驱魔的仪式没什么新意和吸引力。这其中的圣人和恶魔仿佛是相生相克，一代传一代的轮回，代表最高神圣的梵蒂冈也被恶魔所渗透了。
跑到男同事工位窥探人家笔记，破解对方电脑，这是侵犯他人隐私。在电梯间强吻女同事，送玫瑰送卡片送草莓汁，这是职场性骚扰。是怎样的概率让旅店只剩了一间房，新婚新娘是男友的前女友，甚至敢在人家婚礼上对男方父亲大放厥词。感情就像一场漆弹拉锯战，希望每个人都分得清调情和对一个人真正有感情。
老牧师好像是来捣乱的，也太菜了
甜甜的办公室爱情片，很轻松，也无脑。这类故事应该有其观众吧。
整体不按套路出牌，感觉可以给四颗星了
很一般的办公室恋情。男主爹演得不错。女主身高差点颜值也差。
很好的演绎了在失去信仰的末法时代，恶魔和人做交易，并披着人皮横行于世，以及真正的信仰不再形式主义、不再逗留殿堂，而是回到人心，回到真爱。很有趣的片子，换了角度把MW描写的这么生动。可能会让不少形而上的“信仰人”，有阅后不适的感觉。
什么玩意没看懂。。。最后牧师女儿成天使了？？？
近年来最好看的驱魔题材了吧，无论从化妆摄影演技没得挑！
剧中小物件都很有心，太可爱，每一个都击中。音乐也相当合适。

结局有点意思，恶魔接管人间，等待上帝反攻。其他的就很平庸了。主角跟恶魔互相敕令驱逐那段有点逗，比音量是吧，乔帮主带着音响去把你们全超度了
