During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 3.5，一碗来自a24的温馨鸡汤。没有教不好的小朋友，只有不愿用心教育的家长。原先在摄影机/录音设备后负责纪录的“影人”反客为主，成为了叙事的主体，这个想法挺有意思的。可能是之前太迷《小丑》了，现在只要看到杰昆一抱双臂，一做鬼脸，就觉得他还在演Arthur…
3.6 温柔啊，让人感觉是用心思考过的产出。受采的大小朋友有对人际关系的感知，有自我认知，有思辨能力，这些和结尾一起让我感到心软，kids tend to think freely，成年人会有很多时刻需要这些天马行空又有点道理的想法来治愈。也很喜欢通篇对声音的处理。母亲去世这条线有点抽离，似乎也可以带出妹妹的情绪问题吧。（看一半被抓去防疫两天后回来看完也是一个神奇体验）

这几年观影量大减, 好像都不是以前的自己了; 这算是 2021 个人最喜欢吧, 简直像找回了当时在 Alice Tully Hall 被 Her 镇住的时光; Oh, to have an uncle like Joaquin. ❤️
我倒是没有很强烈的这种感觉
慢慢的大人眼里的孩子可能除了岁数小之外，就没什么需要照顾了。亦或者大家都是小孩，在心里都有着不为人知想要被拥抱的伤心之处。
就非常温柔，看似不经意插入的纪录片取材片段的「无剧本感」很巧妙，当孩子们谈论他们的感受，关于未来，孤独，愤怒，以及他们眼中的世界
喜欢导演关于父母子女的很多观点，导演也是个温柔的人啊。并get了其中一篇关于母亲的论文或书。采访孩子的段落应该都是真实的吧，孩子们的表达很纯真深刻。对比那个时候的自己简直是个SB，当然现在也是。

Woody静静趴在Joaquin肚子上，和妈妈手舞足蹈，真好。无论年纪如何，能被理解被接受能表达感情，真好。
