The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 剧情清汤寡水，结局有点仓促，东木的片子看一部少一部，这种气质上的从容让人看着很舒服。
这其实一部纪录片，那只macho（标题）的老公鸡就是伊斯特伍德本人，他之前还是只《骡子》，骡子是他的成名作通心粉西部片里的坐骑。这确实是一部纪录片。记录了90岁的肉身和电影活化石的奇迹。整部影片都有一种让人感觉呼吸凝固的紧张感，好像自己置身于拍摄现场…

我喜欢的星期三为主角我很开心……但是剧情真的好无聊
颜色太多了，一点都不亚当斯，比第一部差很多，比真人版差更多
东木拍一部少一部了，真不该把精力浪费在这样平庸的项目上，与《骡子》和《理查德朱维尔的哀歌》相比创作力是断崖式的下滑。但一些片段还挺感人的，“我不知道怎么治愈老”，“男子气概被高估了，它没什么了不起的”。
但还是不得不佩服他，又一次，本片两个成年女角色都对年迈的他青睐有加，啧啧。
