During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 故事的切入视角很独特，了解到了挺进师这样一支平时不是很耳熟能详的队伍。
电影落下帷幕的瞬间惊觉时间竟已经过去那么久了嘛，不是九十分钟而是八十多年…
原田监督的电影美学真是没话说！气氛渲染、大杀阵场面调度，甚至连暴力场面都可以反复欣赏，我最喜欢的一场戏居然就是刺杀芹泽鸭，镜头语言绝佳。就算把我们はじめちゃん拍成背景板我也认了，洸平在京都的两个月戏仿佛修行，跟着各位师匠学习电影。
这部电影还行吧，时长感觉有点短，音效感觉还不错，情景也还行吧。
流水线的剧情导致许多历史事件展现得水过鸭背
流水账…冈田时代剧越演越同一化了…能打。冷酷。无惊无喜
犯了一大堆歷史人物傳記片的致命錯誤，同時節奏快到我完全看不懂劇情在演啥，這也算是新型態日本歷史片類型解鎖了吧😂😂。片長2小時半，本以為是節奏很慢的歷史片，殊不知節奏快到像是開1.5倍速在講故事，後面完全放飛自我，你看你的我演我的，拍的流水帳同時敘事又可以放飛自我到完全不讓觀眾跟上節奏，是原先初剪拍太長，所以乾脆調倍速濃縮成2個半小時嗎？不過倒是看到不少春季日劇檔的演員參與其中，山田涼介、松下洙平、柴崎幸、客串的柄本明，查了一下導演正是5年前拍出關原之戰的原田真人，是關原之戰拍的太沉悶，所以這部片就改用趕火車敘事嗎？這部片應該對熟悉日本史的人比較吃香，對一般觀眾來說根本大型車禍敘事現場。
故事没有《狙击手》讲的清晰明了，情节不自然的地方太多了。

本片的信息量太大，有点像流水账，不熟悉那段历史的人会看得很累，而且片中对血腥场面拍摄得很克制，武打戏也不精彩，看在布景和演员上给多一颗星了。
可以说是一部全片素人的电影，当然也可能不是素人，但的确是一群崭新的面孔，这种感觉很好，恰如其分，让人恍惚间真的感觉这就是那群曾经默默无名却很英勇的士兵。
一部值得二刷的电影，影片中有许多意象是表达耐人回味，水中幻觉、树林幻觉，蛇与烟雾等等，第一次看战争片需要注意这么多细节
大面积的黑白撞色营造出真实的年代感，眼睛里看到的是烟雾缭绕的山林，脑海里同步想到的是战争的残酷和冰冷，体验感双绝。
这部最美战争影片我非常心水，希望以后可以看到更多系列影片，我必追，让无名英雄走进大众视野的同时心灵也会被涤荡。
画面很有美感，战争片还能这么拍，诗意的镜头语言绝绝子，黑白碰撞很有力量感，直击心灵了属于是。
看完感觉有点不痛不痒，当是丰富日本历史之了吧…
