没想到老爷子在耄耋之年拍了一部墨西哥家庭温情片，一如当年老西部片里退隐江湖的游侠悍匪一样，走完这辈子最后一次长途旅行，终于找到自己的归宿所在。简单的对白，轻微的冲突，都在刻意淡化矛盾；取而代之的是云淡风轻与波澜不惊。电影里的macho，银幕外永远的纯爷们。

年过九旬的伊斯特伍德宝刀不老，继续延续着他的牛仔传奇，既执导，也亲自出演。此次的战场是在墨西哥，虽然也涉及到犯罪与追击，却是一老一少的温馨故事。影片探讨了男子汉气概这个词，这也是伊氏以前影片的重点，是西部片的主要价值观及最大卖点，在此片中则予以否定。善良、信任与家庭，才是强调的重点。影片中表现最出彩的，就是那只名叫男子汉（马乔）的斗鸡，它每次的突然出场，都成为转折点，并让观众忍俊不禁。片名不知为何如此翻译？
