The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 不如去年的好笑了。不怪电影本身，只是2021年连调侃都显得很悲哀。

7分 2021.12.29 又是魔幻的一年
其实就是平时观察者网、tweeter上的那些破事。十年？二十年？届时再看可能更有意义。
已经成为另一种类型的常驻贺岁片了。还是一如既往的套路：伪纪录片的模式，浅显直白的讽刺，荒诞卖丑的受访者，一年各类泛美流行事件的回顾。但比起前作，2021后疫情时代下的美国似乎已经更加疯狂，此情此景和《不要抬头》恰巧形成了互文：娱乐至死的个体、撕裂的社会。
