The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 一时的爽，换来无尽的痛苦，但这难道是应该一个人承担的么？！
伴随《四月三周两天》全片的是看不到尽头的压抑窒息，堕胎后问题也未能真正解决；而《正发生》主要把力道汇聚在三场堕胎戏里，由主角独自艰难的完成，给予观众短时间内最强的情绪冲击。前者无望，后者无助。
以肉体之痛外显女性遭受的精神压迫、文化戕害，最后一个突然的镜头下移特写，压抑许久的血腥一股脑喷涌而出，最大程度引起共情通感。用12周堕胎遭遇为引线，串联起禁锢在女性身上的日常枷锁。
反对堕胎就是开倒车，标榜胎儿生命权就是绑架，就是在引刀杀人。

去年欧洲三大最高奖之中，我最喜欢威尼斯的这部《正发生》，太棒了！全程手持摄影似在模拟女主的情绪，让我看不到叙事作为固态存在于影像中，极佳的女性主义电影。

优缺点都很明显，无可置疑的是，在疫情时代的确很容易被如此匠气的鸡汤倾向给鼓舞到；象征性元素塞得较满——幽蓝客厅照进阳光，蛇，雨，以及关于主旨「瀑布」的点题与结尾急转弯式的闭合，都显得过于工整而失之趣味，甚至有命题作文之味。
